Band: Swing Jaw
From: Darwin, Australia
Their formation story:
(Jake, drums): "Swing Jaw are a mix of three people—myself on drums, and Pete on guitar/vocals, and Sam on vocals)—from other active bands within the Darwin scene. The Northern Territory has always lacked a hardcore scene, so we formed a band to fill that gap and hopefully grow a like-minded community.
"We also want to encourage and facilitate bands touring here. If you want to come to Darwin, reach out to us. Pete and I operate under Swelterfest for bookings."
Their sound in their own words:
"Fast, ugly catharsis derived from dead-end frustration."
Latest release info:
"It's all DIY. Our vocalist was the driving force behind the recording process. It's rough, raw, and straight to the point, with energy and aggression taking preference over perfection and polish.
"The songs were written on and off over the course of about a year. We'll soon have our debut physical 7-inch out through So Dense Were The Flies."
Future plans:
"We'll be releasing a split in the coming months, playing shows, and whatever else comes our way."
What other bands from their region should we check out?
"Fuxache, Batara Kala, and KOH."
