No Cure Announce Debut LP It Is Going To Get Dark, Release First Single

Alabama metallic hardcore powerhouse No Cure have officially announced their long-awaited debut full-length, It Is Going to Get Dark, due out July 10 through SharpTone Records.

Alongside the announcement, the band dropped the album’s first single, “Convulsing in the Dark,” which signals a darker, more ambitious direction. Vocalist Blaythe Steuer describes the album as a reflection of both personal loss and the increasingly bleak state of the world around them.

“There is a deep malaise overhead as we are subjected to the way the world is turning,” Steuer says. “It is clear that things are getting worse, and there is no end in sight.”

Recorded with longtime collaborator Kevin Langley inside a secluded Alabama cabin between tours, It Is Going to Get Dark expands beyond purely personal themes and dives headfirst into societal collapse, existential dread, and internal conflict.

Steuer also joked about the new single’s video featuring “full male nudity,” specifically shouting out guitarist Nick Chance’s “divinely abundant” physical form.
