The music of Barbarous is a full-on aural onslaught. The death metal quintet emerged out of the Bay Area, California region last year, releasing a two-song demo and getting the attention of Creator-Destructor Records along the way.
Barbarous joined the label's death metal and hardcore-packed roster which also includes Spinebreaker, Doomsday, and Sunami.
The band's debut album, Initium Mors, will be hitting stores next month and it sports nighmarish cover imagery by the legendary artist Dan Seagrave (Suffocation, Pestilence):

Cannibal Corpse, Evisceration Plague (2009)
“I mean, are you in a death metal band if you’re not influenced by Cannibal Corpse. From the early stuff to now, Cannibal has been a foundation of the type of death metal the band wants to play. But as we were having our record mixed down, we wanted to put a modern twist on how the Evisceration Plague record sounds.”

The Black Dahlia Murder, Nocturnal (2007)

Monstrosity, The Passage of Existence (2018)
"Another influence that Zach Weed pulled when writing the title track “Initium Mors” was the song 'Cosmic Pandemia.' Although not being super familiar with Monstrosity before joining Barbarous, Zach dove into the record and found “Cosmic Pandemia” pulled some inspiration from the track and created a beautifully composed track."

Skeletal Remains, The Entombment of Chaos (2020)
"Skeletal Remains is such a heavy hitter when it comes to modern death metal. Our original guitarist and primary songwriter of Initium Mors was heavily inspired by Skeletal Remains, not just the album mentioned above but pretty much all their works."
