Bite the Hand: Bay Area Hardcore Band Promises a “Day of Pain” in New Music Video

Last profiled on No Echo in 2022 around the time of their Down Comes the Bay EP, Bite the Hand is back on the site with good reason.

The Bay Area group will be the first act released on Big Bite Records, a label founded by Bite the Hand guitarist Timmy Lodhi where he'll also be dropping music from other bands. Bite the Hand's forthcoming EP is called Brutal by Design and will be out in March.

Sharing members with Spiritual Cramp, Absinthe Father, and State Faults, Bite the Hand's sound is metallic hardcore with thrash-like flourishes, especially in the divebomb-laced guitars and speed department. Not that there aren't any tasty hardcore breakdowns to let loose to.

For a better explanation of what I'm talking about, take a listen (and view) of the music video for "Day of Pain," a track from Brutal by Design. The performance clip was directed and produced by Lodhi:

Brutal by Design was mixed by Andy Nelson at Bricktop Recording and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege.

Formed in 2022, Bite the Hand consists of Timmy Lodhi (guitar), Jacob Breeze (guitar), Travis Pacheco (bass), and Jared Cortland (drums).

Brutal by Design will be out on March 8th via Big Bite Records. You can get it on cassette directly from the band here.
