Band: Violet Bloom

Their formation story:
(Mitch, guitar): "Violet Bloom started when Patz (guitar) messaged me asking if I knew anyone who’d want to join a band with him and Fabi (drums). I reached out to a friend for bass, but he didn’t have the time, so we began as a trio and rehearsed a few times.
"Later, Fabi invited Vinz (bass) and Tesi (vocals) to join, completing the lineup. I had already booked our first weekender in March—before we even had a band name or any songs. Since the end of 2024, we’ve started rehearsing and writing music for that first weekender."
Their sound in their own words:
(Patrick, guitar): "Our sound could be described as mainly fast-paced hardcore punk with some bits of power violence and fastcore/thrashcore elements here and there. Since each of us comes from a different musical background, we bring our own touch to the table, which makes songwriting even more interesting.
"For me, especially bands from the early 10‘s era like Exit Order, Punch, Tørsö, or G.L.O.S.S. are a huge influence when it comes to writing riffs."
Latest release info:
(Theresa, vocals): "Our recently released spring promo features two songs from our upcoming debut EP, which will be out at some point in autumn. Lyrically, the EP explores a wide range of themes, focusing on mental health, self-awareness, and elements of social critique."
(Patrick): "Since our drummer moved to Germany at the end of last year, we basically exchanged a couple of demos back and forth, got together for two weekends earlier this year, and wrote all the songs.
"The tracks were recorded by Julian Jauk at Grelle Musik in our hometown, and we’re really happy he helped us bring out a rawer, more aggressive edge in our sound. Compared to our demo, we really dialed things in, pushing everything in a more direct and intense direction — and we feel like this is where our sound is really starting to take shape."
Future plans:
(Mitch): "Next up, we‘re playing a Germany weekender with Steel Deal to promote our recent spring tape release. At the same time, we’re currently planning shows for autumn to support the release of our upcoming EP."
What other bands from their region should we check out?
(Mitch): "From Graz, I can definitely recommend Prunknelke, Nekrodeus, Thosar, Caloris Impact, Bondage Toes, and The Snub, and from Styria, there is a young Band called Staeb from a small town driving the early Title Fight sound.
"And in Austria, you have bands like Compete, Monokay, Influence, Dice Throw, Bicycle Terror, Sicaria, Hase, Love Embassy, Ritualize, Exception, Hektiks, Cryptic Echoes, Tonal Shift, and many more."
