Their formation story:
“Upgrade was formed in early 2025. After we formed, we played a few gigs throughout 2025.
Then, in 2026, we started working on our material, and eventually our first EP came together.”
Their sound in their own words:
“We’re still hardcore. Hardcore is such a broad genre, so with this first EP, we felt like we had a lot of room to experiment. As for what people want to say about our sound, we just let them have their opinion. We don’t really mind if people say we sound like Outta Pocket, Kickback, Headbussa, and so on.”
Latest release info:
“Our first EP is called Lack of Empathy. It has one intro and three songs that deal with things pretty close to our lives, especially feeling ignored, anxiety, and how someone deals with those feelings.
“We weren’t trying to make it one story that goes from beginning to end. Each song has its own subject and feeling, but they’re all still connected through the same overall theme. We just wanted the EP to reflect what we were feeling and thinking while we were making it.”
Future plans:
“In the near future, we’re planning to do a West Borneo tour in a few cities across West Kalimantan. Hopefully, everything goes smoothly before we move on to working on our next release.”
