Band: Qapla'
From: Fullerton, California
Their formation story:
"Qapla' formed in 2021 by three friends initially as a three-piece with a love of OC/LA punk/hardcore and Star Trek (Qapla' is a greeting in Klingon for all the trekkies out there). We've now added another member and are a four-piece.
Their sound in their own words
"We wanted to stay true to the OC hardcore punk sound, but throw in other elements from our different backgrounds. We have all been involved in other pockets of the punk and hardcore scene in LA and have members in other groups in the scene like Cracked, Bad Antics, and IdeaDeath, to name a few."
Latest release info:
"Our newest release is a demo that evolved over a year. It encompassed almost eight tracks that got changed and whittled down to six. We are pressing them into tapes that will be available soon thanks to our friends at Outlast Records."
Future plans:
"Right now we are really focusing on writing with the hopes of full-length later in 2023 or early 2024 and playing as many shows and supporting the scene as we can."
What other bands from their region should we check out?:
"For hardcore and metalheads, our close friends in IdeaDeath deserve a lot of attention. Happy to see the scene in LA going strong with help of bands like Gunn and SOH. Also, our friends in Objection of Affection just put out a couple of new singles that everyone needs to hear."
