Band: Poison Ivy

Their formation story:
(Alex, guitar): "George, Grigor, and I used to play in the straight edge band xChokex. However, when the band went on hiatus, we saw an opportunity to do something we'd always wanted to do: create a vegan band."
(Abi, vocals): "I've been part of the hardcore community for quite a while, so one day xChokex thought it would be cool if I did some guest vocals on one of their songs. I was stoked, and when they had the idea to form a vegan band, they quickly got me on board."
(Alek, guitar): "After that, we just needed to find a drummer, and that's when Evko joined. We ended up forming the first-ever vegan straight edge band in Bulgaria."
Their sound in their own words:
(Grigor, vocals/bass): "We wanted to write aggressive, hard-hitting music to go along with our message, as our lyrics touch on heavy subjects relating to animal abuse, exploitation, and more."
(Abi): "Some of the bands that influence us don't necessarily sound like us. We draw inspiration from different parts of songs and stitch together our own sound."
Latest release info:
(Abi): "Our newest—and only—release to date is our EP, Screams Unheard. It's a four-track release with a heavier focus on veganism."
Future plans:
(Alex): "We're currently taking a little summer break from playing shows to focus on recording songs for a Balkan compilation with a few other bands. We also have a couple more secrets up our sleeves, but all in due time."
