Band: Paleform
From: Santa Barbara, California
Their formation story:
(Allan Viscarra, guitar): "Joe (vocals) and I met in the mid-2000s when our hometown of Santa Barbara, California was experiencing an exciting wave of DIY shows and animal rights activism. In recent years, Joe and I have reconnected at shows in our neighboring scene in Oxnard. Kelly (drums) and I have known each other for a few years and we briefly played together in another band.
"About a year ago, we started playing with some riffs that would eventually become some of the songs on the demo. Oliver (bass) is a new friend and an experienced player. We share some connections in New Orleans where Oliver lived before moving to Santa Barbara."
Their sound in their own words:
"We just want to play dark hardcore with heavy breakdowns. Our collective influences span across the decades and we pull from various sub-genres of punk. Some of our songs draw heavily from Integrity, Merauder, All Out War, and early Hatebreed."
Latest release info:
"The demo was released on October 31, 2025 with help from Dave Mandel (Indecision Records). It was recorded by Vince Amador (Dead Heat) at Room 11 in Oxnard, California. Cassettes are available on our Bandcamp or from Indecision Records."
Future plans:
"We are stoked to be playing our first show at the Mystery Shop on January 17, 2026 in Oxnard with Magnitude, Envision, Firestarter, Stand Tall, and Disillusion. After that, we just want to play more shows and work on our next release."
What other bands from their region should we check out?
"Everybody should check out Disillusion, Ceramik, Watch You Fall, Said and Done, Disband, Dead Heat, Torena, Detach, Swingback, Knucklebunder, Minus, and Downpresser."
Demo 2025 is available on cassette via Indecision Records.
