First making noise together over a decade ago, the guys in Rock Bottom are back with crossover hardcore on their mind.
Formed out of a Philadelphia suburb basement all those years ago, the quintet first appeared via 2010's Born II Hate 7-inch, eventually releasing a few more EPs and a full-length album, Down With the Devil, a couple of years later.
Incorporating thrash metal influences into the approach, Rock Bottom's guitar riffs and driving energy should appeal to both hardcore kids and metalheads alike.
Coming out of their slumber, Rock Bottom is gearing up for the release of their sophomore album, Speedway. No Echo teamed up with the group to premiere "Xiphoid Process," a thrashtastic track from the forthcoming LP:
Rock Bottom vocalist Dion Barrella shared the following about the song:
"'Xiphoid Process' is about controlling your own destiny. Not letting fantasy or some alignment of stars dictate how your life is going or where it's heading. It's also about when I ordered a chicken sandwich with no mayo and they gave it to me with mayo. I ate it out of principle, but I should've asked for a new sandwich."
Speedway will be out on September 30th via Knife Hits Records (pre-order digital & cassette).
