Their formation story:
(Christopher Clippinger, guitar): "The idea for Javelin got brought up in late 2022 when our vocalist and I were touring with our old metal band, and Dusty had said, 'When I do another hardcore band, it’s going to be called Javelin.” Shortly after that tour, I started writing, and that’s when a mutual friend put me in touch with our drummer, Dylan Meeker, and the idea started snowballing from there.
"We started playing shows in the summer of 23’, then a year later, we added another guitarist, Eli Ronk, with whom I had played music before. Recently, we also got a new bass player named Dan Wachtel."
Their sound in their own words:
"The best way to describe our style is mid-late '90s metallic hardcore worship. Influential bands include All Out War, Merauder, Ringworm, Integrity, and Kickback. Lyrically, our songs are about war, government oppression, and betrayal."
Latest release info:
"Our newest release, MMXXVI Promo, we recorded back in February with Pete Grossmann at Bricktop Recording in Chicago, who also mastered the release. Taylor Young at the Pit Recording Studio in California mixed the songs as well. Our approach to this release was to refine our sound both lyrically and musically, and we feel we have done so. Art-wise, we wanted it to feel as good as the music sounds, and we feel it accomplished that goal. The cover art was done by Rory at @bloodredviolence on Instagram."
Future plans:
"For the upcoming months, we just plan to write and play more shows in the area and beyond. We are also hoping to release another EP in the late summer/early fall."
