Big Water: Kansas City Trio Dish Up ‘90s-Styled Angular Hardcore on New Track (PREMIERE)

As it's made perfectly clear by the band photo above, Big Water call Kansas City home. As a lifelong New York Giants fan, it's tough to see so much Chiefs love in this No Echo piece, but listening to Big Water's refresh of the dissonant-styled hardcore labels like Old Glory Records and Ebullition Records issued in the '90s made me an instant supporter of the trio. It's angular but not too heady where you get lost in the arrangement acrobatics.

Featuring members of Canyons and Bummer, Big Water will be releasing their debut album, And I’m Out of Shit to Fuck Up, later this month. Yes, that's an epic LP title, but dig into the track "In Spirit It's a Madcat" to find out why I was willing to overlook the group's (flawed) sports allegiances:

The guys in Big Water said "In Spirit It's a Madcat" is "about the repetitiveness of the 8-5 life. If I give one inch, they'll take a mile."

Reptilian Records will be dropping And I’m Out of Shit to Fuck Up on both vinyl and digital on May 28th. Jump on the vinyl pre-order at this link.
