Band: GAGGER

Their formation story:
(Spencer, guitar): "Liz and I started writing riffs and songs in our apartment around this time last year for fun, initially we weren't sure if we were gunna pull the trigger on making it a thing but we showed our good friend Collin of 19 Stars Recordings the demos, he thought they were sick and helped us flesh out drums and riffs. We then recorded everything with him, released it, and we immediately started getting offers for shows and thought, 'well shit, we should probably find some members.'

"We brought on our friends Val and Ben who stepped in on guitar and bass, and Collin joined us being the only reliable option for a drummer in NWI. All of us have been in various bands in the area since we were in high school, so it just worked out."

Their sound in their own words:
"I think for the most part, we write what we want to hear. We all come from different areas of hardcore/punk/metal and it's interesting to incorporate all of our own influences. Of which include bands like No Warning, Earth Crisis, Trapped Under Ice, Trash Talk, Crown of Thornz, and Sick of it All."

Latest release info:
"After our EP dropped in December, we had a couple more tracks in the tank as well as our intro that we were only playing live at the time. We decided to finish up those songs and record the intro to put out the 2024 Promo and keep some momentum going throughout the summer.

"The songs are definitely faster, more aggressive, and more experimental in ways, but still a part of 'our sound.' Collin crushed it on the production, as usual, and the process gave us a lot of ideas for what we want to write in the future."

Future plans:
"Well, we just finished up a weekend run with our friends in Dayz Lost and Game of Death, which was dope. We have a few shows lined up at the moment that have yet to be announced for late Summer/early Fall. We're also starting on new material that we're gunna take our time with.

"A big one for us right now is locking down a consistent venue in NWI to bring life to the scene here. We know there are kids out here itching to play shows and be involved and it's important to be able to cultivate that and bring other bands back to the region."

What other bands from their region should we check out?
"Shout out to our friends in Game of Death, Dayz Lost, Crossfire, Gored Embrace, Si Dios Quiere, everyone should be paying attention to them. And a big shout out to Albion House and Guav for being our day ones."
