Italian band 3ND7R might explore postmodernism-related themes and dystopian imagery in their lyrics, but let's make no mistake, their sound is '90s metallic hardcore to its bones.
Their brutish style recalls everyone from Grimlock to Abnegation to Congress. The mosh parts are plenty and appear often on 3ND7R's recently released demo, and my favorite track from the collection is "Survival Research Unit," which is also a good song to introduce the group to you. After a flurry of jittery drums and guitars, the band settles into a steamrolling riff that floats on top of the rhythm in a truly effective way. Frontman Lele's gruff vocal lines sit in the pocket perfectly, adding an additional dimension of groove to the proceedings.
Solid.
