My love for Section H8 isn't a secret. After all, I named the LA outfit the "Best New Hardcore Band of 2018" on this very site.
After dropping a pair of sick EPs, Section H8 is gearing up for the release of their debut full-length album, Welcome to the Nightmare. The 10-song collection was recorded and mixed by Taylor Young (Dead Heat, Regional Justice Center), and mastered by Nick Townsend (Iron Maiden, Red Death), and will be out in a few weeks.
Teasing the record out in fine fashion, the group has just hit us with "Streetsweeper," a song from Welcome to the Nightmare that features none other than Tim Armstrong (Rancid, Operation Ivy) joining Section H8's very own Mexi on vocals:
“Section H8 are an incredible new band. I love them!" said Tim Armstrong of working with the band, adding "When they asked me to collaborate on their new record I didn’t hesitate. Yes! At times, they harken back to the rawness of 1980s Agnostic Front Cause for Alarm-era hardcore, while at the same time documenting what’s around them in 2021.”
Section H8 frontman Mexi says: "It was an honor and a privilege to work on 'Streetsweeper' with Tim Armstrong, who’s both a friend and a huge inspiration to this band and to myself as a lyricist.”
Welcome to the Nightmare will be out on July 30th via Flatspot Records. Pre-orders for both the US and Europe are up now.
