MaceMouth is a Kansas City duo built on the chemistry of lifelong friends Josh Hartranft and Mitchell Hewlett. Armed only with bass and drums, they channel hardcore, noise-rock, and dance-punk into a potent sound that gets its hooks into you. Since emerging with their DIY debut, Dumpster Fresh, the band has leaned into an underground ethos that feels as much about survival as it is about music.
Their new EP, partydeathrock, released on their own TheeAudioAuxiliary label, pushes that foundation further. Recorded at Massive Sound with Paul Malinowski (Shiner) at the helm, the record thickens their attack with stacked bass/guitar rigs and explosive, detail-rich drumming. The result is a short, commanding set of songs that captures the band’s anger, energy, and growth without sanding down the edges.
