A little less than a year ago I wrote about Costa Rica’s Wise Up* releasing a new video, where I mentioned that it’s not every day that a Tico hardcore band comes across our mind… well, today is also one of those days.
Hardcore metal act Living End was born last year (with a Magic: The Gathering theme, for all of us nerds out there) and is comprised of members who played in the Central American countries’ biggest acts, such as Dumah, Billy the Kid, and Confrontación.
After debuting live in 2024 during Comeback Kid’s stop in Latin America, Living End is now focusing on a more aggressive sound with influences from bands such as END, Inclination, and Guilt Trip.
Living End’s brand new EP, Perish, isn't out til later this month, but for now we can stream their new video for “Pernicious Deed." The clip was directed by Costa Rica’s own Saul Arroyo and (my good friend) Fabián Cerdas:
As for what the future holds for them, Living End is planning to celebrate the release with a show in San José, Costa Rica this coming November 22nd along with other Tico bands. They’re also thinking about touring throughout Mexico and Latin America, so keep your eyes peeled for what’s to come!
