New Hardcore Band Spotlight: Unseen

Photo: Norzahir

Band: Unseen
From: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Their formation story:
"Unseen is here because we wanted to be recognized for more than our abilities and as females, who are a minority in Malaysia's hardcore scene. We wanted to speak up and validate the unheard, those who felt unsafe in the majority."

Their sound in their own words:
"Youth Crew has influenced us a lot in the 2022 promo, Unworthy Desire, which was released in January, we were trying to combine bits of everything that we listened to, such as Freedom, Rival Mob, Scowl, and everything in between, to become unique in our own way."

Latest release info:
"Unworthy Desire is more energetic than the promo because we were able to deliver a more unique sound, to which we added all different inputs to make it what it is. The song 'Unworthy Desire' is dedicated to all the stray animals. We felt the fate of the unworthy while writing this song. In fact, some of the profits made from this release go to the stray animals in our local area."

Future plans:
"We wanted to achieve more and be better in every way. We wanted to set a positive example and show that women are capable of doing anything. As for our future plans, we are hoping to tour different cities this year and release more new stuff!"

What other bands from their region should we check out?
"Check out LastxMinute, Pressureside, Check Your Head, Convicted, Homicide, and No Title."
