Band: Ripped Off
From: Portland, Oregon
Their formation story:
"Derek (drums) moved to Portland in January of this year and got referred to Pierce (guitar) by Trent of These Fucking Hands. Pierce had recently gotten back into the Portland scene and he was looking to start a band, so he and Derek got together to practice and things worked out.
"Later, the band would bring in Josh (bass), Alex (vocals), and Wynnston (guitar), who we met while recording."
Their sound in their own words:
"We blend classic and modern styles together to create a mix of hardcore, beatdown, and slam sounds. We want to cultivate some sing along parts while leaning into the northwest sound."
Latest release info:
"Our self-titled EP came out on June 6th on all streaming platforms."
Future plans:
"Our first show is on June 24th. We wanna do a split with a band this summer, play mostly local shows this year, tour next year."
What other bands from their region should we check out?
"From Portland: 2 Tha Teeth, Slime, Mad Choice, These Fucking Hands (RIP), Misery Whip, from the NW: Sumo and Get Pieced, and from San Diego: Cold Path."
