Their formation story:
(River Elliot, vocals): "I realized that even though I had been in the hardcore scene for over a decade, I’d never been in a band that played straight-up hardcore music, so I asked members of my other bands and if they wanted to start a new one to scratch that itch for me."
Their sound in their own words:
"We wanted to lean heavy into the vibe we got from the active bands from when we were first getting into the hardcore scene like Cruel Hand, The Rival Mob, Backtrack, Vulgar Display, and older Turnstile."
Latest release info:
"We wanted to make something that was fast, bouncy, and raw. Most of the songs we wrote in one sit down each with minimal rewriting before recording, so what you hear is pretty much exactly as it came to our heads. Lyrically, the songs are very straightforward, speaking on the old hardcore classics like social norms, my mental health, loyalty to friends, and police violence.
"I was trying to get to the point rather than show off how many words I know. As 'overdone' as the topics might be in hardcore I think they’re still important to talk about when it comes to the rise in social puritanism, rampant unaffordability, and nationwide ICE raids that we’re seeing today."
Future plans:
"We just want to rock. We’ve got a few shows coming up in North Texas but early next year we’re planning to start playing some out of town and out of state shows."
