Bronx metallic hardcore band Xtinguish the Code return with their second full-length, The Conflict, set for release on March 27. Built on a foundation of classic New York hardcore energy, while incorporating elements of metal, hip-hop, and groove-driven beatdown, the band has steadily carved out a place in the modern NYHC landscape since its formation in 2019.
Featuring members of Apparition, No Weapon, 4 In The Chamber, and Full Scale Riot, the group brings together bassist Dusty Onita, drummer Nate Boogie, guitarist The Professor G Flava, and vocalist BJ Allen.
Following the band’s debut LP Step to My World (2021) and the Matter of Fact EP (2023), both released through 1054 Records, The Conflict marks Xtinguish the Code’s first collaboration with Grey Matter Records. The album also introduces the current lineup’s rhythm section and vocal combination of Nate Boogie and BJ Allen, pushing the band’s already explosive sound into even heavier territory.

The Conflict finds Xtinguish the Code expanding their vision with their first conceptual release. Across the record’s tracks, the band explores themes of working-class solidarity and political awakening, with each song portraying the transformation of an ordinary person into a radicalized voice against injustice. Musically, the record delivers the band’s signature hybrid of NYHC grit and metallic aggression, blending beatdown grooves with streetwise intensity and a wide range of influences.
The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Joe Kusak at Amplitude Recording. Former vocalist Kevin Lugo also appears with guest vocals on the track “Safe Space,” adding another connection to the band’s earlier era.
