It's been a busy stretch for Sherbrooke, Québec's Hailbomb, since No Echo last checked in with the band last year. Following the release of their first two singles in late 2025, the group underwent a pair of lineup changes that helped reshape both its sound and direction.

The band's current lineup features vocalist Samuel Leclerc, guitarist Jean-François Gamache, bassist Sébastien Claveau, and drummer Paul Côté-Bérard. According to the band, the additions of Leclerc and Côté-Bérard brought fresh energy and intensity to the project, pushing Hailbomb further into metallic hardcore territory.

"We now have a more in-your-face sound with speed picking, blast beats, and politically charged lyrics delivered with powerful and menacing hardcore vocals," the band explains.

That evolution can be heard in Hailbomb's latest single, "Lion Heart," released earlier this month. The track serves as the first taste of the band's upcoming EP, Built on Misery, due out later this summer.

The single is just the beginning. Hailbomb plans to release two additional singles and a music video ahead of their album's release.

Outside of new music, the band has a busy schedule lined up across Eastern Canada, with shows planned in Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and Ontario alongside bands like Soulthief, Mouthbreaker, and Blank.

For now, Hailbomb remains independent, though the band says it is open to future label and distribution opportunities for their Built in Misery album.
