It's been almost a year since No Echo last covered Fliora. If you missed that story, and aren't already familiar with the band, they hail from Asheville, North Carolina. "At its most basic, our sound is metalcore with plenty of hardcore and death metal influence," says the band.
"We enjoy chaotic and technical music, and try to incorporate those elements as much as possible to keep it interesting. Some influences include On Broken Wings, Despised Icon, The Acacia Strain, Candiria, and Defeated Sanity."
Fliora made its debut via their Welcome the Blossom EP last year, and now they're back with a new extended play in tow. Comprised of 6 new tracks, Iron Harvest matches its musical brutality with heavy themes. "Lyrically and thematically, this EP is more personal, dealing with anxiety and death; societal critique is the biggest carryover theme from Welcome the Blossom," Fliora tells No Echo.
No Echo has teamed up with Fliora's label, Bitter Melody Records, to premiere the music video for the first taste of the Iron Harvest EP, a dizzying ass-beater called "Adjacent":
Both Iron Harvest and Welcome the Blossom will be collected together on a vinyl LP for this release. The new EP will also be released on CD for the collectors.
Fliora have been road dogs since we last checked in with them, touring up and down the East Coast and Midwest. It sounds like that won't be changing any time soon. "Our immediate future plans are to continue touring as much as possible. We’re lucky to be able to go play our music to people all over the country."
