Our endless quest to introduce our readers to new bands continues today. Meet Fliora, a metallic hardcore band from Asheville, North Carolina featuring members of Basilica.

"We’ve been a band for about 2 years, writing and live testing our songs under a fake name, Loss of Consciousness," the band tells No Echo via email. "We set out with the goal to officially announce ourselves as a band with our first single, so playing under a different name was a way for us to live test our songs, which we think is an important part of the writing process. That process led to this single and upcoming EP, which we’re excited to finally release after the past couple years."

The EP being mentioned is called Welcome the Blossom, which will arrive in stores in November. "The themes of this EP span societal critique, philosophy, and reflection on the human condition. The intent of this band and our writing style is to write music that we enjoy and feel is unique, to say what we want to say, and ultimately be able to create without any bounds in terms of sound, style, or genre."

Now that you've got some background info on Fliora, check out their debut single, "No Wisdom Found," which the band is premiering with us today:

"This song is about losing confidence in people you used to be close to; finally realizing that the good you thought you saw in them was false, and instead you’re left feeling like you can’t trust in them anymore."

Curious about their sonic references, No Echo asked Fliora to get a bit specific about their stylistic approach:

"Our sound is rooted in hardcore and metalcore, while taking influence from all genres of heavy music, including death metal, thrash, deathcore, and even non-heavy music when it feels right. Some of our influences include Sanction, Jesus Piece, and Defeated Sanity."

With the EP's release slated for the fall, Fliora is already working on material for an album, with shows being booked as we speak, in and outside of their region.

"Asheville doesn’t have a lot of 'core' music, but they do have quite a bit of heavy music; some notable mentions from Asheville are Dark Hand, Serrate, Harsh Realm, and Cave Grave. Some bands in our regional scene that we love are Reviler, Your Spirit Dies, Stomped Out, Demiurge, Deceit, Every Promise Kept, Lucky Feeling, Babe Haven, and so many others that it's impossible to list."

Welcome the Blossom will be out on November 15th via Bitter Melody Records.
