Bern, Switzerland's Days of Ruin have been at it for nearly a decade, releasing their debut EP, Of Predators and Prey, in 2018 and following it with the full-length Extinction two years later. After returning with a string of singles in 2025, the metalcore outfit is now ready to unleash its next proper release.
Age of Ignorance arrives independently tomorrow, September 25, but you don't have to wait that long to hear it. No Echo is premiering the seven-song EP in full today.
Clocking in at just under 23 minutes, Age of Ignorance finds Days of Ruin pulling from the heavier end of metalcore, with plenty of death metal worked into the equation. The band describes the record as dealing with "despair, betrayal, grief and the stubborn refusal to be broken."
There's a larger idea behind the title as well. Age of Ignorance reflects the band's view of a world that continues to repeat the same mistakes while seemingly refusing to learn from its past.
