New Hardcore Band Spotlight: Witness the End

Band: Witness the End
From: Portland, Oregon

Their formation story:
(Cody, drums): "We started playing together when we saw each other at a Gorilla Biscuits show in Portland at the Hawthorne Theatre. Ryan Baker (bass) Josh Poole (vocals), and I ran into each other and we decided together that we were going to do it. Josh and I had been talking about starting a band for years.

"Tyler (guitar) was brought in soon after. Tyler worked at a liquor store that Josh went to and they got to talking about music and he came to practice and we had our first practice at Ryan’s auto body shop where he worked at the time.  Noah (second guitar) was brought in shortly after. Tyler and Noah have been friends for a long time and played in a couple bands together. Tyler came to practice one day and said 'my friend Noah would really like to try this band out if you guys are cool with it' and he came out to the next practice and we snagged him up."

Their sound in their own words:
"I’d say we are very old school, traditional hardcore with an Oi! twist, and a splash of metal. Our influences would probably have to be The Hope Conspiracy, Sick of It All, Agnostic Front, Wisdom In Chains, and Killing the Dream."

Latest release info:
"It’s a 3-song demo we did ourselves in Josh’s garage where we practice and write songs. They are a mix of some of our first songs we wrote together after we started going out and playing shows. The songs have very meaningful and aggressive lyrics about real life things. Good and bad."

Future plans:
"Play shows, kick ass and have as much fun doing it as we can! We’re all in this together so let’s do it together!"

What other bands from their region should we check out?
"Guilt tradition, Benchscraper, All Quiet, Petty Treason, Berator."
