Their formation story:
(Vocalist Eli) "Wasted Space started as a thrash band in our bassist’s garage. We all met at different points in school, and we ended up becoming a hardcore band because we all found hardcore through different backgrounds."
Their sound in their own words:
"We’re a hardcore punk band with thrash influence. We pull at lot of influence from GEL, Scowl, SPY, and Fading Signal. We also get that thrash influence from Power Trip and DRI. We keep our music in standard E tuning as a nod to thrash bands that show the tuning can be heavy.
"We don’t aim for any specific style our style is just a culmination of what we’re listening to."
Latest release info:
"We just dropped our debut, a self titled EP, and it’s kind of our first go at establishing our sound. The songs date back from almost three years ago. As we wrote all of this material, our music tastes changed and the differences between songs reflect that."
Future plans:
"Trying to play as many shows as we can and putting our music in front as many people as possible. We want to branch out of Richmond and play in different scenes and cities. Working on newer and better material for the next release."

"Torment, Rotwl, Contact, Reflect, Richmond Vampire, No Other Way, Blazing Tomb, and bigger bands like Killing Pace and Downfall. There’s tons of sick hardcore in Richmond, so it’s hard to mention it all. Any local band you see here is sure to rip."
