Band: Stop at Nothing
From: Detroit, Michigan
Their formation story:
(Nik Hubbard, guitar): "I had moved to Texas in late 2019, right before the pandemic. After spending 3 years in hell, I moved back to the Detroit area in the summer of 2022. A couple of months after, I ran into Kenny Smith at a DCFC match. He and I used to be in a band called Retribution back in 2014.
"Shortly after that, our drummer Jake Friedrick (Big Deal), told me he wanted to start a band with me at a show at the Crofoot up in Pontiac. Slowly but surely we started writing, and we got Joe Plonkey (Big Deal) and Lyric Chambers (D-Bloc) to fill in the gaps.
"Although Joe isn’t in the band now, we love him to death (listen to Big Deal). We now have our friend Brad Walker (Moral Pollution) playing bass for us."
Their sound in their own words:
"Detroit dancefloor metallic hardcore. We pull influence from Cold as Life, Slayer, All Out War, and Kickback."
Latest release info:
"We released a single right before Tied Down ‘25 called 'Fighting Spirit.' It was recorded with Nathan Laytart (Sunhead Studios) and mixed/mastered by Collin St. Mary (19 Stars NWI). It’s got groove, it’s got fast parts, and it’s got shit that’ll make you want to hit the dancefloor."
Future plans:
"We have a show coming up at a local skatepark on July 12th. Leading up to that, we’ll continue writing some new tracks. After that, we’re planning to record an LP. We’re really stoked for it. Tied Down ‘25 gave us another huge breath of fresh air, so if we were at a 10 on the motivation scale, we’re at an 11 now."
What other bands from their region should we check out?
"Michigan Hardcore has never been more back than it is right now. Let me put you on: King’s Command, Killing Field, The Sissy Boys, Nuff Said, Anhedonia, Moral Pollution, Wounded Touch, Vigilante, Concuss, D-Bloc, Bad Beat, Suffer No Fools, Escalation of Force, Ante Up, Pluto’s Kiss, Normal."
