Band: Missouri Executive Order 44
From: Kansas City, Missouri
Their formation story:
"Truthfully ,this project was started to play maybe one show back in December of 2022 to fill out a bill at Farewell, our local watering hole. Jarom approached our drummer Malachi and guitarist Elos about doing this at a movie night at Farewell one slow, cold night. He stated at the corner of the bar that he 'wanted to make a sassy, grindy, power violence band that dressed up in full Mormon gear – bike helmets and white button ups – called Missouri Executive Order 44.
"Jarom had read about the history of the executive order seven years prior and Malachi and Elos agreed to give it the Mormon whirl.
"We met up a couple days later for our first practice and wrote all but one of the songs on our first EP. Esau joined the band a week later on the bass. From the inception of the band to the release of the first EP was 30 days. We played 40 shows in the first year, and evidently liked each other's company."
Their sound in their own words:
"It’s a mixture of a lot of things. Sassy, heavy, sporadic, but not afraid to sit in the pocket. Like a herd of steer left to stampede across an empty prairie. Angry, unpredictable, yet striding to a simple mesmerizing rhythm."
Latest release info:
"Our new record, Salt Sermon comes, out on LP/CS/CD August 16th through Learning Curve and The Ghost is Clear Records."
Future plans:
"Our future plans include just grinding it out through the rest of summer playing some local and regional shows after the record comes out, then doing some touring this fall/winter. We plan to record some additional material here in the upcoming weeks."
What other bands from their region should we check out?
"Littered With Arrows, Nerver, God’s Computer, MURF, Skimp, Votive. All good bands up and down I-35."
