New Hardcore Band Spotlight: Kill You

Band: Kill You
From: South Florida

Their formation story:
(Jesse O'Hara, guitar): "Our formation was quite typical. I wanted to create a hardcore band, but didn't know many people in Florida. So, I recorded a couple instrumental tracks in my home studio and posted them in a group for Florida hardcore fans. Drummer, Eddy Sorge, responded to the ad.

"He then connected me with vocalist, Greg Lebeau, who he also plays with in Loyal Until Death. They liked the demos I made and so we began to focus on recording as much material as possible to try and shape our sound. We later recruited Nick Adinaguev to assist with bass duties.

"Eventually, we decided on 'Kill You' as the band name, which reflects our commitment to ensuring that every riff, every track, slays. You'll never hear a pop chorus in this band."

Their sound in their own words:
"I would say that generally we are a heavy hardcore band. Our songs are short, fast, and pissed off - the way a hardcore band should be. Like most bands, our sound has a ton of influences.

"There are way too many great bands to list. However, if I had to boil it down, I would say Kill You would appeal to fans of Turmoil, Buried Alive, Trapped Under Ice, Incendiary, and Strife."

Latest release info:
"'Unleash the Suffering' is our debut single that came out earlier last month (September, 2025), and we just released a music video for our latest track, 'Alive with Violence.' We largely self-produce all of our own music. I recorded this track in my home studio. Audio engineer, Javi Melo, assisted with mixing and mastering."

Future plans:
"We put a ton of work in and have completed a lot of material already. While I'd prefer to release an EP or full album, we will likely continue to release singles on a monthly release schedule because we are a new band. Perhaps later we will re-package some songs as an EP.

"Our next track, 'Alive With Violence,' is scheduled for release on October 3, 2025. You can expect future material to come out at the beginning of each month, so stay tuned."

What other bands from their region should we check out?
"Aside from some of the bigger bands like Poison the Well, Shai Hulud, etc., there are some up-and-coming hardcore bands garnering attention here in Florida. Some notable mentions include Royal Hearts (who I used to play guitar for), Statement of Pride, No Truth, Domain, Drosera, The Ashies, and Storm the Shores. Check 'em out and support the Florida hardcore scene."
