Band: Gagu

Their formation story:
(Zach Voytek, bass): "Gagu formed back in April 2024 when our guitarist Zach Fontanez had the idea to do a one-off hardcore punk band set for a show he had booked at South Whitney Pizza in Hartford, Connecticut. He wanted to do something in the vein of the band Tupperware. After our first few practices, we decided this band was too good all around for just one show. We we're having a blast with it."
Their sound in their own words:
"Gagu takes influences from all over, but we're really geared towards the 'punk' side of hardcore. Dark and freaky d-beats, fastcore, scissor-beats, mid-pace mosh-riffs, loud amps, growly, snarling vocals and raw energy make up our sound/vibe. We love to play punk shows, hardcore shows, and mixed bills too. We just love getting out there and turning shit up to 11."
Latest release info:
"We recently put out our demo. Our vocalist Lexi whipped up some CDs to grab at shows, and our friends at Dirtbag Distro helped us with cassettes. The release show was on April 26th in our friend Giacomo's (Sauce) barn; The Tarrys, Sauce, and Mr. Beast Death 2030 also played.
"You can also listen to the demo on most streaming services. Our drummer Louis Baumer was in charge of the recording process, which we did in his basement in Danbury, Connecticut."
Future plans:
"We have some shows scattered around the Northeast this summer. We're currently writing some new songs to bust out at said shows and eventually record."
