Band: Bye Bye
From: Liverpool, UK
Their formation story:
(Louis, guitar): “Me and Will (drums) met on joinmyband.com, a forum looking for people to start/join a band. I then met Jack (bass) in a bar after a few too many drinks. We shuffled around a few singers until Will convinced Cade, his friend from his hometown of Plymouth, to move to Liverpool solely to join the band after sending him a few demos. Overall, this band exists all because of chance encounters.”
Their sound in their own words:
“We’d say we sound like a combination of post-hardcore and skramz. Lots of screaming vocals, open tunings and fast drums. We’re all big fans of bands like Touché Amoré, Catalyst, and Title Fight.”
Latest release info:
“To be honest, the songs came about in a very simple way. I brought the riffs to a practice room and me and Will turned them into full tracks. Considering the band existed without a singer for at least seven months, we practiced them instrumentally until Cade moved up and the songs really came into their own once he did.
“Lyrically, the tracks focus on Cade’s own family and his hometown, with the song titles originating from things his grandad used to say. Cade really loves his grandad.”
Future plans:
“Coming off the release of the first two tracks, we plan to gig as much as possible, both in Liverpool and across the country. We have lots of songs written, which can be heard in our first gig, in London on October 11th, and we aim to record them sometime in the new year. The new
tracks are more hardcore-adjacent sounding, and we can’t wait to hear people’s thoughts.”
What other bands from their region should we check out?
“Being in Liverpool, there’s lots of great bands in this really exciting scene. Just to name a few: Stuck in a Rut, Fallaway, Coughin’ Vicars, Class Tourists, Monroe, The Beatles, Boxcutter, Bovver Bailey, Two Blinks I Love You. All of the bands in the Liverpool hardcore scene, they’re all so good.”
