Their formation story:
“We all knew one another from raving, hardcore, and friends of friends. Harry and Ozzy had been trying to start a band called Spit Bucket for a while. At the same time, Taylon and I wanted to start a punk/grind band called FFR, but both groups struggled to find members. After becoming friends with Harry, we decided to merge the two bands and start a new group. Raina was already playing in Regress, and Taylon and I were good friends with her, so we enlisted her on bass.
“The idea for the name came from liking other weapon-based band names like Dynamite and Cannonball—we wanted something short and to the point, so we landed on Bullet. We didn’t really expect to do anything massive with the band. At first, we only talked about playing a handful of shows, dropping a DIY demo, and calling it quits. But the reception we kept getting from the scene made us want to continue. We’re so thankful to anyone who’s put time or love into what we do—we couldn’t be happier with what we’re able to do today because of the scene.”
Their sound in their own words:
“When starting this band, we all agreed we didn’t want to stay in the lane a lot of London bands were in—focused on aggressive mosh music. We wanted to do something different. Being big fans of punk, crust, Youth Crew, and the NWOBHC movement from a few years ago, we aimed to make something stompy, distorted, and fast—something people would throw themselves side-to-side to, instead of crowdkilling.
“We’re really inspired by basically every punk band on Quality Control Records. Some that stand out are Standpoint, Arms Race, Payday, Blind Authority, and Mastermind. We also love many Youth Crew bands, like Youth of Today and Gorilla Biscuits, as well as crust bands like Nausea and Framtid. That mix of crust, hardcore, and Youth Crew comes together in the sound we have today.”
Latest release info:
“Creating the EP was a long process. We were careful in choosing which songs made the cut for our first release. Sonically, we wanted the songs to flow well and follow similar themes. It took about a year before we felt ready to record, finalize arrangements, and shape how we wanted the release to look and feel.
“The artwork was done by a really talented artist on Instagram, @mercvryss. I’ve been a fan of their work for a long time, and when I saw the skinhead skull peace sign design, I felt it really matched the sound.
“We recorded with Matt Darby (OSK Productions) in Hackney Wick—the same studio where Potter Payper recorded Training Day 2 (weird crossover). We were excited to work with Matt because we loved how huge the first King Street album and the Big Smoke EP sounded. Going into it, we knew we wanted a more raw sound. We drew a lot of mixing inspiration from Bad Breeding’s Human Capital, especially the reverb, feedback, and less-polished guitars and drums.
“The EP is political. It touches on the genocide in Palestine, the way the UK government is treating trans people, and figures like Charlie Kirk—looking at how their actions have consequences. There’s also a song I wrote while getting sober in detox, about feeling stuck in yourself and hating life, making it harder to stay sober. The EP is pretty dark lyrically, and I think with future releases we want to keep exploring that depressive, darker tone.”
Future plans:
“I think the plan is to try and do a small tour, play the new EP, and maybe get into the studio to work on a split with some of our friends’ bands. We’ve also talked about putting together a compilation with other London punk and hardcore bands—that could be cool. We don’t overthink things too much—we just try to have fun. The second it stops being fun is the second we stop.”

“Check out some of our friends’ bands: Regress, Make Way, Perp Walk, Second Skin (no demo yet, but catch them at our EP release show), State Sanctioned Violence, Röt, Agency, and Mashaal. Some of our members are also working on new bands—watch out for guidedbymalice and Bastard Squad coming soon.”
