Band: Animal House

Their formation story:
(OC, bass): "Most of us had already played together in hardcore bands before, including Ironclad. Animal House had been gestating for a while, and when it came time to figure out who should front the band, Chris was the first and only person I thought of. We'd been friends since his days in Dublin's Bang Bros, and I knew he'd absolutely nail the vibe.
"Even though he lived on the other side of the Irish Sea, he didn't hesitate when I asked him to join. Once Chris was on board, Animal House was complete."
Their sound in their own words:
"Our sound is rooted in the hardcore that left a huge mark on us in the early 2000s. Bands like Mental, Righteous Jams, The Wrong Side, Stop and Think, and, of course, the undisputed division-one champions Floorpunch all played a major role in shaping what we're doing.
"It's fast, energetic hardcore built around the kind of records that made us want to start bands in the first place."
Latest release info:
"We recorded nine songs this past January with our friend Pingu from Bigfoot. Chris flew over the night before the session and, to his eternal credit, not only had lyrics ready for all the rough practice-room recordings we'd sent him, but managed to knock out every vocal track in a single take.
"After a few delays, we got impatient and decided to release three songs as a demo, which is currently available on Bandcamp. The full release will be coming out physically through Sacrificial Rite Records once the remaining tracks are ready, hopefully within the next month or two."
Future plans:
"Alongside releasing the full record, we'll also have a track appearing on a compilation that Sacrificial Rite Records is putting together with Rise Above Cancer. The comp will be available at Outbreak Festival at the end of June.
"We've also booked our first show on July 4 alongside Bigfoot, Raw Nerve, and Burning Cupid, with several more shows already lined up for the rest of the year."

"South Wales is going through a real renaissance right now, thanks in large part to Sacrificial Rite Records and Newport venue The Cab. Check out Violent Offence, Asidhara, Bigfoot, Raw Nerve, Burning Cupid, and Denouncement.
"From Dublin, the band recommends Goon, Cease, Poser, and Breakeven, who apparently have a killer demo on the way.
"Animal House also wanted to give a special shout-out to their friend Aimee's Rise Above Cancer initiative, which has raised money through hardcore shows and other fundraisers to help fight cancer and support those affected by it."
