Going back to 2018, No Echo has covered City of Industry a handful of times on the site. Since then, the Seattle trio has proven to be a proflific group, releasing a slew of EPs and albums throughout that time.
With a sound that would have them fit on a live bill with everyone from Converge to Assück to Deafhaven, City of Industry is keeping their impressive pace up with the forthcoming release of their fourth full-length album, Spiritual West.
"Spiritual West is, musically and lyrically, the most honest, raw, and poignant piece of work I've ever done," says vocalist/guitarist John Caraveo. The new album was recorded by Nich Wilbur (Mt. Eerie, Sumac), and then mixed and mastered by Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Gouge Away).
Directed by Fonesex, No Echo is premiering the music video for "Chalk This Up to Assault," a track from the upcoming LP:
City of Industry vocalist/guitarist John Caraveo shared the following thoughts about the song with No Echo:
"I can't help but, at times, feel overwhelmed by the lack of substance and the unadulterated falsehoods of this world. 'Chalk This Up To Assault' is a literal title. It's me wrestling with the human condition. I think the contrast between my vocals and my friend Jakob Keizer's (Izthmi), who is featured on the song, highlights the struggle of coming to terms with what I'm yelling about."
Spiritual West will be out on November 11th.
