Band: xVeritex
From: Finland
Their formation story:
(Niko Jernvall-Jetsu, drums): "xVeritex was founded in early 2025 after Eerik (guitar) and I chatted about starting a vegan straight edge band at a local hardcore show in Helsinki, Finland. People in that category are not many, so the most natural thing to do was to ask the people we already played in bands with.
"Timi (guitar) and Kari (bass) were asked to join probably that same night. Joonas (vocals) from Worth the Pain was asked a week or so later."
Their sound in their own words:
"Musically speaking, the roots are deep in Swedish melodic death metal and early 2000s metalcore— especially At the Gates (RIP Tompa), Killswitch Engage, and Undying. For the vegan straight edge side of things, definitely Earth Crisis and xRepentancex."
Latest release info:
"For a Scorn-Forged Heart is six tracks of that nostalgic 2000’s metalcore sound infused with Swedish melodeath heritage. The message is clear, none can be free until all are free."
Future plans:
"The first shows of xVeritex are happening in the first months of 2026. We are also working on new material, to be continued in a more distant future."
What other bands from their region should we check out?
"Gray State, Lunastus, and Ecotage. Go vegan."
For a Scorn-Forged Heart is available in physical formats via Bitter Melody (US), Bound By Modern Age (EU), Genet Records (EU), Strange Horizon Records (FI), and Unvanquished Records (FI).
