Band: War Is Hell

Their formation story:
(Brody Franchere, guitars): "I was born and raised in Tehachapi, and I'm the guitarist for War Is Hell. Well, I grew up around hardcore so all my friends have been around it as well.. My dad is Andy from Diehard Youth, and his friends in the Warriors are always hanging out.
"All of them have always been cool to us and encouraged us to start a band and do art. So a few of us started a street punk band that fell apart pretty quickly. Right after that we decided to start a Tehachapi hardcore band with just friends and that is War Is Hell."
Their sound in their own words:
"When we first started writing our songs, we didn't really know what we wanted to do and what direction we wanted to go in. We knew we wanted to be heavier like the Warriors but we are all still new at writing and playing.
"So, for our demo, a lot of inspiration comes from Guns Up! and No Warning. Theres a couple more inspired spices we used for our songs but those two bands played the biggest part in writing our songs."
Latest release info:
"So our most recent release and only release is our demo which we just call War Is Hell Demo. We have 5 songs with one being and intro that is just sounds of war and 4 legit songs. All four songs are the first songs we've ever written together and the order they are in on the demo is the order they were written too.
"We tried to keep everything short but with a punch and we think we achieved our goal. It was all of our first time in the studio."
Future plans:
"We are already writing new songs for perhaps a 7”. But in the meantime we just wanna play as many shows as we can and show off our demo, hopefully go on a little tour, that's what we all really wanna do. So if you book shows hit us up. Or if you wanna trade shows and play Tehachapi I know the dudes who book the shows in town."
What other bands from the region should we check out?
:ILL Communication obviously deserves some attention for not only being great but for also helping us with the demo. I also have to say Out of Line too even though they are more from the Bakersfield scene, they helped us record and they mixed our demo too so we are forever grateful for them.
