Band: Urine Mask
From: Bristol, UK
Their formation story:
(Adam, bass/vocals): "Max (drums) and I would skate together, one day he asked if I wanted to start a d-beat band with him and his brother (Thom - guitar/vocals). The three of us got together at their practice space and it felt like it clicked pretty quick.
"We were into a lot of the same music, had the same references. Over the winter we just practiced and practiced. Then the following year we self released our first EP, Future Trauma, and started playing a few local shows."
Their sound in their own words:
"We take a lot from crust punk and d-beat. Especially those 2000s bands. I’d say Tragedy is a pretty obvious one. The three of us are really into those sort of bands. But we all sort of come from slightly different places, so it’s a still got a varied blend of punk, metal and hardcore influences too.
"We like jamming to old Sepultura to Butthole Surfers."
Latest release info:
"Eternal Pit is our latest EP, it feels like a more defined follow up to the first one. As we got more dialled in to writing/playing together. We’re stoked with how it’s turned out.
Future plans:
"We have a few shows lined up over the summer. Playing with Bootlicker in August. Hopefully a few more later this year. Other than that we’ll probably get back to writing again soon."
What other bands from their region should we check out?
"Definitely check out Cryptbreaker, Complete Snake, Plague Pit, Heriot, Gimic, and Bruxism."
