Band: Sniper's Nest
From: Las Vegas, Nevada

Their formation story:
(John Vanacore, guitar): "We started originally from our singer Chuck wanting to sing for a band. We originally started as a different band called Klorine but we couldn’t agree on a style and didn’t like the name anymore.

"One day in the spring, me and him got together with him on drums where we wrote and recorded the instruments for the demo in one night before taking some time to figure out vocals and lyrics. We then recruited our friends Jacodie, Dan, and Bren to fill out the rest of the lineup and we’ve played on and off in Vegas since March."

Their sound in their own words:
"As far as influences go, I think going into that night of writing and recording the demo we were definitely on the same page as The Rival Mob, Think I Care, Waste Management, and anything from the states of Massachusetts and New York as inspo.

"Our skank parts I definitely had Outburst on my mind, I like how they don’t really hold a note for too long it’s just kind of busy those measures. On our song 'Axe,' I was ripping off Altered Boys with the back and forth fast part and skank parts."

Latest release info:
"We have a demo tape now on Fortress Records, big shout out to Mikey. I’m hyped he was into it and we’re in good company on there. I recorded it myself with one of those EAD things as well as my phone for drums and then a SM57 for the guitars and vocals. Our good friend Brad from Firestarter mastered it and that artist Dewey from Chicago crushed the art. There a few tapes still available on the Fortress store."

Future plans:
"Our current plans we’re playing in Vegas a few more times before the year ends. I’m gonna start figuring out some California shows for us soon for early next year. And eventually us and Imprizon wanna do a Florida weekend together so our bosses don’t get buyers remorse."

What other bands from their region should we check out?
"The Vegas scene is really busy right now, feels like there’s always something to see which was never like this in the before time(before Covid). Different mixes of us play in Imprizon, Anguish Cry, Scrutiny, Fading Fast, Sakura, Bound, Haphazard, and Hit ‘Em Up so check those out.

"Also check out our friends out here in Khasm, Thousand Wayz 2 Die, Brain Decay, and one of the thousand bands that members of Bankroll are in. I’m not typing all that out."

The Sniper's Nest demo is available on cassette via Fortress Records.
