Their formation story:
(Joe Elmore): "Run Your Mouth came out of the post-COVID Kent, Ohio, hardcore punk scene. All of us were playing in different hardcore bands around 2022–2023, but as bands often do, those projects eventually fizzled out.
"We knew we wanted to start something together with this lineup, so we began writing in early 2024. Eventually, a few of us moved to Cleveland, got harder, and started playing a lot of pool."
Their sound in their own words:
"We’ve been called some kind of prog-punk-metalcore band. There are definitely moments that are really heavy, but we also lean into unconventional and sometimes even silly ideas, too.
"Some of our biggest influences going into Run Your Mouth were Terror, Sanction, Jesus Piece, and Ohio legends, Darkroom."
Latest release info:
"K100 was recorded at Oranjudio in Columbus, Ohio, with the young boss Graham Ritchie, who also handled mixing and mastering.
"We’ve been anticipating releasing these songs for a long time. They contain some of our strongest and heaviest riffs so far, and they’ve already been getting great pit reactions live, so it felt like the right time to finally put them out."
Future plans:
"Lately, we’ve been heavily focused on writing ass-beater songs. We’re currently sitting on around ten new tracks that will eventually become our next release. Before the end of the year, we’re hoping to at least demo everything out and start moving toward properly recording it.
"We’re all involved in multiple projects, so organizing shows can sometimes be difficult, but we’re hoping to put together a couple of weekenders hitting places like Buffalo and Evansville soon."
