New Hardcore Band Spotlight: Forked

Band: Forked
From: Berlin & Warsaw

Their formation story:
"We all met in Portugal over 15 years ago through hardcore punk—going to shows, playing in bands, and building friendships around music. Pedro (guitar), Matheus (bass), and me played in a band called Treehouses 2290, while Diogo (vocals) fronted A Thousand Words. At one point, Diogo even filled in on bass for a couple of Treehouses shows, which brought us even closer.

"Over the past decade, life took us in different directions—Diogo and Pedro moved to Berlin, while Matheus and I ended up in Szczecin and Warsaw. Some of us stepped away from music and hardcore for a while, but in December last year, we came back together and started Forked."

Their sound in their own words:
"I'm not sure how to define our sound but what I can say is that we're definitely inspired by bands such as Turnstile, Angel Du$t, Ceremony, Snapcase, and No Warning to name a few."

Latest release info:
"For our first release we wanted to fuse a modern hardcore with electronic elements, drawing inspiration from bands like Turnstile, Angel Du$t, and Ceremony, as well as other genres we've been exposed to the past 10 years.

"Our experience as expats definitely shaped our music and we wanted to share themes of displacement, adaptation, and resilience into our sound and lyrics."

Future plans:
"We'll be having a couple of gigs in Berlin after our demo release and we're definitely planning to tour Europe in October/November - there are soo many folks we would like to share a stage with."

What other bands from their region should we check out?
"Shout out to Fallback, Easy, Hetta, and Cold Sweat."

Demo '25 will be available on cassette soon via On the Outside Records.
