Their formation story:
(Ronin Garcia, guitars): "Myself and our original drummer had been friends for some years, mostly just playing shows with each others bands. I approached him in 2019 about starting a project and he finally hit me back up about it toward the end of 2022. We got to work pretty quickly and recruited Allen (bass), KT (vocals), and Natchee (vocals)."
Their sound in their own words:
"Combat Drug was originally conceived as a Crossed Out/Neanderthal worship project. We added some mosh but kept the caveman riffs and blast beats. Our sound and style have continued to develop since then. We could probably be compared to bands like Despise You and Punch."
Latest release info:
"Suicide Tactic is our first EP. We shopped it around to a few labels after recording it in March 2023 but ultimately decided to release it ourselves via Bandcamp. It is the most fun I've ever had recording an album. I think our chemistry as a band and with Joey Seward, who recorded us, really shines through.
"The music itself is the most raw, energetic, and deeply personal material I have ever created with any band. Knuckle-dragger riffage and lyrics, combined with high-intensity punk energy."
Future plans:
"Right now, we are taking a break from shows while we work on shifting some members around. We'll be back at it and writing new material soon, so keep an eye out for us."
