Their formation story:
(Maddox, bass): "We were booking a pre-show for the first No Guarantee Fest (our booking collective) back in May and needed an extra band for the bill. We said fuck it, made up a band originally called Postpartum, and cranked out a set for the show. After the first show and a lineup change, we decided we wanted to take this project further and rebranded as Cheerleader. It’s been straight rock 'n' roll ever since!"

(Alex, guitar): "Fast power violence with some hardcore influence, for fans of Manhunt, Endless Swarm, Left for Dead, Brain Tourniquet, and Mind Eraser."
Latest release info:
(Isabelle, vocals): "Our newest release, Promo 2026, includes two songs, 'C.A.M.P' and 'Behind You,' that we wrote in the fall of last year. Our song 'C.A.M.P.' stands for Class Act Missing Piece which is a acronym I came up with for watching people conform to the environment around them without questioning and shrink themselves so they could be perceived in a more favorable way. Even today I still watch people shrink themselves just so they can be liked and I’ve felt that societal pressure to fit in but it’s just not authentic to who I am and who I am is not something I will ever be embarrassed or shamed about.
Our second song in Promo 2026, 'Behind You,' comes from the idea that if you don’t take accountability for wrong doings they will inevitably be brought to the surface. It’s also has an underlying meaning from a phrase 'who needs enemies with friends like that' which to me means sometimes the closest people can be the ones with the worst intentions. Although it’s a pessimistic view point, it’s a common experience women/nonbinary/queer individuals go through when putting their trust in someone who isn’t worthy of it."
Future plans:
(Nate, guitar): "Expect to see a small dip in shows coming up as we write more - Cheer is the most fun band to write music in because we all bring very different stuff to the table, especially in terms of our individual influences. We plan to put out a larger project soon as a result, and we’d love to see you all out on a tour to hear the new material this summer (TBD)."
