Their formation story:
"The band came together pretty organically. The guitarist first approached the vocalist about his No Time shirt at a Spectral Voice show, and they ended up talking for the rest of the gig. They tried to start a couple of projects that didn’t pan out, but things clicked once they connected with members of Petty Theft, who were breaking up.
"They brought in their guitarist, his close friend, and eventually drummer Chip, and from there, Blunt Force was formed. Everyone shares a love for fast, heavy music, so it all came together naturally."
Their sound in their own words:
"Blunt Force pulls from both Boston and Cleveland hardcore sounds. One guitarist leans toward bands like I Hate You (Philadelphia), while another pushes for more blast beats and powerviolence influence.
"People often compare the vocals to Think I Care, which we take as a huge compliment. The demo itself is very blown-out and distorted, so it appeals to anyone who likes their hardcore raw and unpolished."
Latest release info:
"This demo is Blunt Force’s first release and includes most of the band’s earliest songs. It was recorded with Lukas Hill in Nazareth and mixed/mastered by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air Studios.
"The demo opens with a slow, heavy intro before launching into four fast tracks. Lyrically, it’s a hyper-curated collage of cultural touchstones, centered on fighting apathy and embracing individuality."
Future plans:
"We’ve got a couple of shows lined up at the end of May in the Philadelphia area and are actively looking to book more gigs throughout the Northeast."
