Band: BIGFOOT
From: South Wales, UK
Their formation story:
(Johnny, drums): "BIGFOOT was initially formed during the summer of 2023 at my birthday BBQ. Mike (vocals) and I had played many shows together when he was in Deal With It, and I was in Ark of the Covenant. We also had a band called Natural Order and always enjoyed making music together. Hywel (guitar) and I had also played in bands together many years earlier. Kieran (bass), who plays in Asidhara, was also at the BBQ, so he got roped in on bass!
"Later on, we decided we needed a second guitarist, so we brought Pingu on board. He had also been in Ark of the Covenant and Natural Order, so it just made sense since we'd been writing and playing together for so many years. Due to life commitments, it took us a while to get up and running, but we managed to get a demo out in 2025 and started playing shows after that."
Their sound in their own words:
"I'd describe our style as straight-up hardcore with lots of energy and groove. There's clearly some Rival Mob influence in there, as well as a nod to mid-2000s bands like Outbreak, Think It Through, Internal Affairs, Down to Nothing, and Stop and Think."
Latest release info:
"Our new record, Bigfoot Time, just came out, and we couldn't be happier with it. I think the vocals and lyrics are one of the most important parts of the record. There's definitely a satirical nature to the vocals, with Mike really expressing his thoughts on current affairs and the sorry state of the world right now.
"We all feel like we're living in an episode of The Thick of It or The Day Today at times (hence the sample), and Bigfoot isn't shy about calling out some of the absurd shit that's happening. We're very much channeling a 'stick together and stand up for what's right' mentality through our music."
Future plans:
"There currently isn't a huge amount booked. We played four shows immediately after the record came out, and they were all really fun. Right now we're working on physical releases for the record, with a vinyl edition through our local label Sacrificial Rite and cassettes through our good friends at Counterculture in Liverpool. More than anything, we're just really happy to be making music together."
What other bands from your region should we check out?
"In no particular order: Animal House, Violent Offence, Bottom of the Barrel, Raw Nerve, Asidhara, The Dogs, and Burning Cupid. We also have close ties to Liverpool and Manchester, so definitely check out Unravel and Brightside."
