Their formation story:
"[Vocalist] Manda [McCormick] had been wanting to form a band for a while. She'd mentioned the idea to her long-time friend [bassist] Jess [Maier], who agreed to join immediately. Knowing no other guitarists, they put out a Google Form which resulted in Lauren [Fritz] joining. A few months later, the three would use the same approach to find a drummer, adding Nora [Maupin] to the group.
"The name 'Beef' started out as a joke suggestion, but it stuck and has since received such a positive response from crowds."
Their sound in their own words:
"Beef is Philly Hardcore Punk. We take a lot of influence from Scowl, Kublai Khan TX, and Mannequin Pussy."
Latest release info:
"Our latest release, 'Highwater' is loud, angry, and raw. Our truest dedication to hardcore and our best release yet."
Future plans:
"We intend to release a new EP around February/March, with a small weekender tour through late February and March."
