Malmö, Sweden's Lawgiver just came upon my radar earlier this month and I'm definitely enjoying their 2016 demo. "Roll the Other Way" is a tasty slab of crossover hardcore with an array of memorable guitar riffs. Some of the parts wouldn't have sounded out of place on Leeway, Crumbsuckers, or Suicidal Tendencies records. I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff, so I was instantly hooked.
Singer Patricia's (no last name provided) vocal delivery has loads of character to it, something that will help Lawgiver stand out from the crowded hardcore pack. Seriously, there's so much attitude in her voice that you can almost picture her sneering in the vocal booth.
UK label Neutral Words Records has recently picked up the five-song Lawgiver demo as a cassette release, so if you like what you hear, hit them up for a copy.
