Song of the Day

Edge of Despair, “Images of Violence” (2018)

Hot off the presses is Edge of Despair's debut demo. The Los Angeles-based quartet plays PMA-driven hardcore with a metallic kick to it, especially in the guitar tone department.

"Images of Violence" closes out their 3-track demo, and its dissonant guitar chording is what hooked me upon my very first listen. As a matter of fact, every guitar part in the song is essential here. Edge of Despair keep everything driving forward with intense energy, but the aforementioned moody guitar chords lend an overall melancholic vibe to the entire proceedings.

I'm impressed and look forward to hearing what Edge of Despair do in the near future.

Head to Edge of Despair's Facebook page to learn more about the band, and listen to their entire demo on Bandcamp.
