Black Mask have been kicking around since 2011, releasing a pair of EPs and touring extensively before eventually going quiet. Now the hardcore band is back with its first full-length.
Titled Vestige of Mercy, album arrives October 16 through Static Era Records. Guitarist Greg Thomas, who also plays in END, produced and recorded the LP at Silver Bullet Studios, with Will Putney handling mastering duties at Graphic Nature Audio.
Following last month's “Monarch Detraction,” Black Mask have shared another taste of the record with “Tormented,” a blast of dark metallic hardcore that also pulls from grind, pairing frantic stretches and a tasty breakdown for good measure:
The forthcoming 12-track collection marks Black Mask's first major release since 2014's Lost Below EP, which followed their self-titled debut EP two years earlier.
