Toronto's Not Dead Yet is, unfortunately, dead. After eight years of putting together what is arguably the best hardcore punk fest worldwide, the organizers are apparently calling it quits. In an era when it feels like things are more and more siloed out Not Dead Yet put forth a fest which covered the full breadth of the underground. I mean, not to front on Sound & Fury or Manic Relapse or any of the other gathering of the tribes, but what other fest gives you Radioactivity and Terror and Muro and Sheer Mag and Impalers and Turnstile and... well you get the point.
At times its almost frustrating because there are so many shows going on at the same time that choices needed to be made so yeah I missed Candy and I missed the Number Ones and hell I missed Culture Abuse because I needed to eat sometime... it was truly a special fest and it will be missed.
